Mexico’s beaches offer a diverse assortment of activities, including water sports, scuba diving, and fishing, among others. These beaches are also popular for providing both a place for relaxation and a wild nightlife.
Mexico’s extensive coastline opens up to different bodies of water. On the Pacific coast, you can visit the beaches of Acapulco, Puerto Escondido, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta, among others. The Yucatan Peninsula coast, which leads to the Carribean Sea, is home to Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. The coast of Baja California, meanwhile, is where Cabo San Lucas, La Paz and Loreto can be found.
One of the most popular beaches in the world lies along the Pacific coast, in Acapulco. The increasing popularity of Acapulco has led to the development of better infrastructure and better cleaning services in the community. Acapulco’s standards are world-class, with international resorts and a wide array of activities.
Another beach along the Pacific coast is Puerto Escondido. It is a popular beach among surfers worldwide. The months of August to November bring about waves reaching up to 8 feet.

Among all the resorts in Mexico, Cancun is the most visited beach resort, gathering more than 2 million tourists every year. Various water activities can be done in Cancun, while allowing travelers to appreciate the deep history and archaeology of Mexico in nearby areas.
Opening up to the Sea of Cortez, Cabo San Lucas in the Baja Peninsula offers travelers with unmatched biodiversity. Fishermen, divers, and even golfers are frequent travelers to this area.

The best time to go to the beaches of Mexico is generally from November to May. Holidays, such as Easter and Christmas, also attract a lot of tourists. The months from June to September are quite humid, and insects also become big nuisances during those times. When going to any of these beaches, don’t forget to bring insect repellants.
